Thank you all for your love, prayers, and support. I cannot express deeply enough the overwhelming experiences I am having in Africa; both good and bad, deep spiritual experiences, and day to day trials. It is a different world, but yet is the same, children, family, work, and church. There is a powerful presence of the Lord in this nation. The church just finished an all night Victory Service. It was amazing to watch these servants of God bring their children, spend their time, fast, praise and worship the Lord throughout the night until dawn. They do it every month. They pray for breakthroughs for their church, families, and country. They use it to cleanse themselves, draw closer to and focus on the Lord. I visited the hospital today and was touched by the need for so much that we take for granted; sheets, medicine, and sanitation. Yet somehow the people are cared for and loved. When someone from the church is sick all the members chip in and help out. The same goes for when someone dies. This week one of the instructors from the school passed away. The whole church body is embracing the family, not just for a day but for the weeks to come.
My classes at Victory International Bible College are intense but going well. We took class pictures this week, me included, and it was fun. I was one of the speakers at the International Women's Weapons of Power Conference last week that 3,000 women attended. It went well. I am preparing to speak at a large Pastors conference this week. I ask for prayers as I prepare the right words, ones that will share the love of Jesus and the caring of others around the world that do love and care about the all the children in Africa. I have visited the primary schools and have seen the lack of paper, books, and supplies. Even as I attend my classes at the Bible school we sit on small wooden benches for hours listening and learning while the teachers have only a small chalk board to use. I am humbled as I think about how we are so spoiled in so many ways with all the comforts that we and our children have in America.
Daily life is still a struggle here, but one thing they do value is education. They take it very seriously and it is evident. Nigeria is a leader in Africa. It seems more prosperous than the other countries I have visited. That is why Archbishop Onuigbo is making plans to accompany me to Rwanda, Kenya and the Congo. The goal is to help build intercontinental relationships to spread the Gospel and Nigeria's prosperity to the other nations. That is one of the things I share as I preach. It is not enough for the help to come from outside of Africa. We must also encourage them to help each other.
With prosperity, comes responsibility and part of that responsibility is giving back to others in need. Scripture says you have not because you ask not. First of all, I ask for your prayers for my safety of body, soul, and spirit. I ask those of you who are able and willing, please help me on this 40 day journey God has sent me on in Africa. I do not have enough money to safely finish this trip. What you give will be a blessing to so many. Everyone being touched over here during this mission trip send their thanks, love, and prayers to all of you.
Grace in Gods Hands,
Love, Carol
