Preaching on Isaiah 58, and 54:2-3, Stephen Carlyle was blessed to be with such honorable people who opened their hearts. He shared his musical talents playing side by side with awesome African drummers in the Congo. In both the Congo and Rwanda, he also played an African drum while singing a song in Swahili. As coordinator of the conference sponsored by Grace In God's Hands Ministries, Carol Carlyle was able to bring together this mission team from America to work beside the African team members. This included Bishop Bernard from Rwanda, Rev. Boniface, the hosting pastor, from Gisenyi, Rwanda, Rev. Donath from The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rev. Samuel Mwangi from Kenya, and Rev. Moses Muwanguzi from Uganda.
One morning was dedicated to ministering to the special needs of the pastors. We encouraged them, commissioning them to go back to the churches with the Holy Spirit leading them in all their activities. A special time was set aside for the pastors to receive hands laying on them in prayer by the team member from America and leaders from Africa. It was a humbling experience to pray for each pastor from these nations as they slowly walked between two lines of those praying. We could perceive the needs of each one. At times we could graphically see the hardship of starvation, war, extreme poverty, despair and a deep cry for help spiritually, physically and economically. Our hearts went out to these faithful servants of God living at time under such extreme hardship, more than most in America could even imagine or bear.
Rwanda is a land of repentance and there is no more shame! They have changed their ways. They choose to no longer slay each other. Instead they choose to serve each other in the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. These obedient men and women of God are the foundation stones of a great revival about to happen. They claim this land, the border towns of Gisenyi, Rwanda and Goma, Congo where tens of thousands of people died in the genocide of 1994 as a united City of God. They are set free from the hands of evil, loosed from the chains of oppression and death. The were born again in the presence of the Holy Spirit, having accepted Jesus Christ as their only savior and seek after God with all their hearts. Godly principles are claimed as the only way and foundation of national survival and future prosperity. We claims Isaiah 19: 19-25 over this region. Scripture refers Egypt and Ethiopia as Africa. The heart of Africa is where Gisenyi, Rwanda and Goma, Congo are located. Take time to read this scripture and pray it's promise and blessings of revival over them.
On a personal note from Carol: This is my sixth trip to Africa. It was an honor to be part of the wonderful team of people from America and work with the precious people from Rwanda and the other nations. They continue to touch my life and fill me with even deeper desire to help these people and nations. Both the American team and the African team did a wonderful job of impacting nations, feeding the hungry both physically and spiritually.
Please continue to pray for this team. Rev. William and Kim Nolt and Chris Flory completed their mission trip in Mombassa. Rev. Talbert Morgan returned back to his church, The City of God Church, in Richland, WA. Stephen and Carol Carlyle continued to stay in Africa for another two months doing a national radio broadcast in Uganda, continuing to provide goods and serve at the orphanages in Kenya, the Masai people and other ministry travel in the Pabbo Refugee Camp in Northern Uganda.
