The children at the orphanage embraced Barbara when she gave presents as part of her Christian clown ministry. She gave her all as she made the children laugh and smile as the clown 'Miss Bubbles'! She blessed the children with bubbles, laughter and joy while talking about Jesus. Even in the midst of her personal loss she just kept loving the children until it was time for her to leave. May Barbara be greatly blessed for her faithfullness. She is a valuable member of our team, loved and such a blessing. We miss her very much.
Please keep our team in prayer as we review our plans. Before Barbara left she gave funds to take the 8th grade orphans who are graduating from Heroes of the Nation Childrens Home to visit an animal reserve. This will be a first for them. Althrough she was unable to join us her gift blessed these students tremdously. They were able to see giraffs, zebras, hippos, five lions and pet a live rhino!. It was an amazing time full of love, fun and laughter. Other activities from the day included visiting an airport and watching a plane take off and land, and visiting Dr. Weston Gitonga's mother and giving her gifts. They were thankful to her for raising such a fine son who was not an orphan himself, but he grew up to love and care for orphans.
We also visited another orphanage where they have shared some of the blessings they have received over the last year. It was good for them to see another orphanage first hand that has not had any outside sponsorship and how they struggle with having enough food to eat daily and how sick many of the children were. Each child from Heroes of the Nation were able to give one of the orphans we were visiting a gift of school supplies and bisquits. We were teaching them to be open to receiving blessing, but also to be open to freely give.
It was an amazing day, one they will remember fondly over the years. Such days are rare or non-existant for children in orphanages. There is often so much need to just help them survive daily, that activities like taking 25 children to visit the animal reserve are not possible. We are so thankful to Barbara that she was able, in the midst of losing her mother, to keep giving. She remembered her promise to bless the children with this trip. Thank you, Barbara.
We are committed to travel to Mombassa, Kenya for a conference, then onto the nations of Rwanda, Congo and Uganda serving the children and needy. We have prayed and know we must keep pressing on to what the Lord has placed on our hearts. Please pray for our team which includes Donna Coppersmith and us. Please pray for absolute safety, health, finances and peace in all our hearts.
If you would like to help us with the expenses that are still to be met to make all of this possible you, may donate securely on-line for a tax deductible donation at: www.graceingodshands.com
We have been faithful with what has been intrusted to us. There is so much need here. Daily we ask God for discernment as to where and when to bless and support. As a team we came with 31 tubs and suitcases of donated goods to bless the people. It is amazing the wonderful gifts that people trusted us to bring into the mission field.
On Saturday, Destiny Bible Collegein Nyahururu, Kenya graduated 55 students, who each received Christian books, planners and pins given by people in America. What a wonderful surprise for them. Thank you.
Today we will visit a local hospital and give them medical supplies we brought over. We also will try to visit a nearby prison. We have sent ahead of us 4 suitcases full of goods that will go to people in Rwanda, Congo and Uganda. We know we must go. If you can help, please do.
Please help us help the children. In Matthew 25:, Jesus taught, "The King will reply, 'I will tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'"
Grace to all of you!
